1959 Gibson 3/4 melody maker
1959 Gibson 3/4 Melody Maker Electric Guitar – Original with Replacement Tuners
Up for sale is this very cool 1959 Gibson 3/4 Melody Maker electric guitar. As you'll see from the photos, the guitar is in very good vintage condition.
The guitar appears to be all original with the exception of the replacement tuners, which were installed at some point in its history. The electronics are fully functional, and the pickup delivers the classic warm, lively vintage Gibson tone these guitars are known for.
The tone pot is missing one of the tabs beneath its locking nut, while the volume control still retains its original locking tab. This does not affect the guitar's functionality.
The guitar previously had two stickers applied—one on the lower portion of the body and one on the upper part of the back of the head stock . These have recently been carefully removed and the areas cleaned. Because the stickers appear to have been on the guitar for many years, they left darker "shadow" impressions where the finish was protected from fading.
The guitar plays nicely, sounds excellent, and is a pleasure to use. As expected for a 1959 instrument, it shows honest vintage wear, including numerous small nicks, chips, dings, dents, scratches, and other cosmetic blemishes throughout. Please examine the photos carefully, as they are an important part of the description and accurately represent the guitar's condition.
The guitar includes an aftermarket gig bag.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you'd like additional photos.
