1975 Martin d-28 shade top
Here we have a super cool 1975 Martin D-28 shade top. As you will notice, the guitar is in good condition. There have been numerous repairs done to this instrument, including a recent neck reset along with a complete refret, new bone nut and saddle, and a new ebony replacement bridge made specifically for it. The old bridge had been shaved down and could no longer be used.
This guitar was received with a crude headstock repair that has now been properly corrected. As you'll notice from the photos I have provided, the entire neck has been oversprayed and blended correctly with nitrocellulose lacquer. The guitar still retains all of its original interior bracing, along with the original fingerboard and neck.
The guitar looks to have had a replacement pick Gard glued on previously and is secure.
The finish is original, but there does appear to have been some slight cracking at the lower bout of the top finish, as you will also notice from the photos I have provided. The guitar does have lots of little nicks, chips, dings, dents, and superficial blemishes throughout, as shown in the photos.
The guitar plays and sounds wonderful. It definitely has that classic Martin tone and is very surprising for a '70s Martin. The guitar comes with an original blue hardshell case.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.
