1931 Martin C-3 conversion to 45 style
Here we have great 1935 Martin c-3 archtop that has been converted to a style 45
The conversion was done by Joel Whitehead. Four of the tuners on the guitar original other two are later Correct but not original with the instrument. The guitar has been completely re Fretted
Things to know about the instrument:
New AAA Adirondack spruce top with scalloped 1/4” scalloped bracing
Nut width is 1.753''
Replacement Ebony fingerboard with accurately sized 45 style pearl inlay
Width from e to e at bridge is 2.277''. scale length 25-3/4''
Ebony belly bridge with bone saddle and bone bridge pins with mother of pearl dot, new bone nut and saddle.
New liquor aged finish to the top and entire body to match the original neck
Guitar has a lacquered in celluloid tortoise Pic gard
Entire top and body is surrounded with abalone pearl with period Correct accurate perfing lines and celluloid cream binding.
The neck sides and back front head block with original Martin serial stamp and tail block with center reinforcement, strip and original Martin stamp with back bracing are original
Sides and back are Brazilian Rosewood with mahogany neck.
Things original to the guitar include:
Neck, Brazilian Rosewoodsides and back, neck block, tail block, back bracing ,center strip,4 tuners, Martin peg head
There are lots of scrapes, scratches, dings dents and superficial blemishes all over the instrument.
The top has been aged to match the rest of the guitar.
The guitar comes with an aftermarket case. The guitar does have lots of little nicks chips, dings dents, and superficial blemishes all over it as you'll notice from the photos that I have provided. Please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.
