Here we have a super-rare 1939 Martin 2-30 mandolin. As you'll notice, the mandolin is in good condition but has had a few repairs. When we received it, there was a crack near the tailpiece that has recently been re-glued and cleated with a large, securely installed piece of Adirondack spruce, reinforcing the top at this low-pressure point of the mandolin. This repair is very secure. The mandolin house also had a small hairline fracture in the treble side of the bottom part of the neck resealed. This was a old repair that has been re-corrected during the neck reset.
The mandolin has also had a neck reset to correct the geometry of the instrument. Other than that, the mandolin is all original. It does have plenty of little nicks, chips, dings, dents, and superficial blemishes throughout, as you'll notice in the photos I've provided.
The mandolin comes with its original hardshell case. Please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.
