1955 Gibson LG1, to LG2 X brace conversion
Here we have a super cool 1955 Gibson Lg-1 that has been X braced and converted to a Lg-2
Things that were done to this instrument guitar had an old pick up installed in it with holes in the top. Those holes were filled and color match to the top as you'll notice in the photos that I've provided guitar appears to have also had a input jack in it at one point that has been filled and colored. The guitar has had its original top re Voiced, X braced, with 5/16 scalloped forward shifted bracing pattern with 5/16 scalloped tone bars, and appropriately sized head, brace and finger braces along with a small maple Bridge plate. The back has had all bracing re-glued and center maple reinforcement spine has been added similar to how an original LG-2 two would be constructed. The guitar has also had a complete re fret along with a new bone nut and saddle. The guitar still does obtain its original tuners that have had new buttons installed. The guitar still dose obtained its original bridge that has been re glued, serial number stamped on the head block along with all original finish. Guitar has had a neck, reset recur, correcting the geometry of this instrument. Geometry of the instrument is spot on now guitar plays and sound great. This conversion Definitely made a miraculous change to this guitar. The guitar does have lots of little nicks chips, dings dents, and superficial blemishes all over it as you will also notice in the photos that I have provided the guitar comes with a aftermarket case please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.
