Kay jumbo flat top conversion to X braceing 1960s
Here we have a great 1960s kay jumbo that has been converted the guitar has had a new top made for it that is old growth, Sitka spruce. Bracing is rear shifted X braced. X brace is 1/4 scalloped along with 1/4 scallop tone bars, and appropriate sized head, brace and side supports with small maple bridge plate. The guitar has also recently had a neck reset along with a replacement Brazilian Rosewood bridge. the guitar has also had an old small heal repair that was done sometime ago that has been recently re-corrected. The guitar plays great geometry is spot on action is wonderful. Sides and back are kind of beat up looking as well as neck. The guitar plays unbelievable sounds fantastic. The guitar still does obtain its original frets that have been recently leveled re-crowned and dressed accordingly. Guitar looks to have had a pick up in it at some point there is a plug at the lower boat and a plug at the upper vote. As you'll notice from the photos that I have provided. Guitar top has been sprayed with a sunburst nitro cellulose lacquer finish that has been aged to match the rest of the instrument. This guitar may look beat but plays and sounds fantastic. The tuners are aftermarket . The guitar has lots of nicks chips dings dent and superficial blemishes all over it as you will notice from the photos that i have provieded.
